Get a super-healthy skin with these eight strategies

Sometimes you may spend thousands on your skin, but fail to get the expected results. This can be quite frustrating and even disheartening. However, sometimes it’s the simple lifestyle changes that can bring a significant difference to your skin.

Follow these eight strategies to get super-healthy skin:

1) Eat less sugar and processed foods

Sugar and processed foods are major stimulants for a bad skin. Stay away from foods like aerated drinks, bread, doughnuts, cakes, and other foods rich in sugar. Sugar can spike up your insulin levels, which is not only bad for the skin but also triggers obesity, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions.

2) Hydrate, hydrate, and Hydrate!

Like any other organ of your body, your skin also craves water. Since water maintains your skin’s elasticity, People who drink more water are less likely to suffer from fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. For your daily water intake, try to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. You don’t have to wait to feel thirsty to do that. Feeling thirsty is a signal that your body has already started getting dehydrated.

3) Fix gut imbalances

Gut irritation and inflammation can cause a toll on your skin. Poor diet and food allergies leak proteins in your body that irritate the skin and cause eczema. Besides, bad diets, sugar-rich beverages, supplements, and certain medications can also lead to gut irritation and imbalances. Instead, add skin-supporting nutrients like vitamin A, C, E, K2, B5, B3, minerals like selenium, zinc, silica, healthy fats like omega-3, etc.

4) Eat an omega-3 rich diet

DHA is responsible for the structural component of your skin. On the other hand, EPA helps manage oil production, hydration, prevention of premature aging, acne, etc. Omega-3 oils come loaded with EPA and DHA that safeguard your skin and protect you from sun damage, wrinkles, and other issues. Food that contains omega-3 includes salmon, sardines, cods, walnuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, etc.

5) Exercise and sweat regularly

When you sweat, the pores in your skin open up and release a lot of toxins. Therefore, you should keep exercising an integral part of your daily life apart from a balanced diet. Sweating also excretes several essential salts from our bodies. So, make sure to take electrolytes after a sweaty workout session.

6) Get great sleep

Lack of sleep can decrease your skin’s moisture and PH levels, making your skin appear dull and lifeless. When you go to sleep, your body starts to repair all the small tears and damages to your skin. This is why experts recommend everyone to sleep for atleast 7 hours.

7) Curb stress levels

Stress increases the cortisol level in your body. When cortisol rise, your body starts to make more oil, become more sensitive and reactive. As a result, it becomes harder for your body to heal skin issues properly. Stress also aggravates skin problems like psoriasis, eczema and rosacea, fever blisters, hives, etc. Try to cut stress through exercise, yoga, meditation, sleeping correctly. If it helps, you can also seek support from a licensed therapist or even talk to your friends.

8) Be careful with toxic skincare products

The number of compositions and ingredients in skin products is growing longer as we speak. Therefore, Consumers need to seek out products that are clean and organic.

Stay away from products containing formaldehyde, Synthetic fragrances, Phthalates, Polyethylene glycol (PEGs), Ethanolamines, Oxybenzone, Parabens, etc.
